We are committed to providing a safe and positive space for people of all ages, cultures, genders, ethnicities, abilities and walks of life. Our performances, original works, and educational programs breathe humanity, empathy and truth. We amplify voices that are often excluded and uncover hearts that are often hidden.

By replacing "You're too..." and “You'll never..." with “You’re enough” and “You will” we aspire to change the world, one show at a time.

Meet Lauren

At the young age of eight years old, Lauren performed in her first show as one of the Snow children in a local production of Carousel, and she’s been hooked on theatre ever since. After performing in many high school shows, she continued her education at UCLA and received a BFA and MFA in Acting. After graduating, she spent a few years in LA performing in shows, and on television.  She also established herself as a playwright. She taught at Loyola Marymount for a year before moving back to Chicago, where she continued to teach at Loyola University. While raising four children, she directed plays/musicals at Stevenson High School, Attic Playhouse and Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, where she is Resident Director. Over the years, Lauren has continued to cultivate her deep love for directing, teaching, playwriting and acting.   Lauren’s love for all things theatre is contagious.  Yet, her true passion lies in creating a safe and accepting environment where she can guide other people towards reaching their goals and discovering who they are through the world of theatre, which led her to found 4 Chairs Theatre in 2018.
